"I Went For Cosmetic Surgery Because.......

I was very uncomfortable with my breasts after breast-feeding my son – Modupe Ozolua"

Modupe ‘The Body’ Ozolua is one woman your wife will forgive you for lusting after. Here, she speaks with SAMUEL OLATUNJI in all her enhanced glory.

Why body reconstruction of all things?

Body enhancement is basically an investment. I’m not a doctor and everybody knows that. I don’t have a medical background. It is a business I set up where professionals in the medical field who have spent years specialising in plastic surgery, will have the opportunity to use their expertise to make money and at the same time, make lives better.

Did you envisage you were going to be into body reconstruction as a young lady?
No. Just like everybody else, I believe every normal child during his or her developmental years changes ambition so many times. At one point, I said I wanted to be a doctor but over the years, when I saw blood I got squeamish. So, that idea quickly went out of the window. But very early, I realised that I was very artistic, I could draw and design. So I went to school to study Graphic Design. Overnight, just because of my own interest in plastic surgery from my own personal venture, I went into the world of medicine.

I remembered the first time I watched a cosmetic procedure being done, it was a tummy tuck. When they lifted the flab of the skin and I looked at the stomach muscles, I stood there and said ‘Oh my God, it is so beautiful’. That was the day I fell in love. Though I was already doing cosmetic surgery here in Nigeria, but I’d never been in the operating room watching the procedure. They can’t keep me out of operating room now. That squeamish thing is out of it now. But, did I ever think this is what I would be doing? The answer is no. I got into it because of my own personal interest in cosmetic surgery. I went to have a cosmetic surgery done and all of a sudden, I decided to open an office here in Nigeria.
